🥚 Incubator & grow-out

Eggs in, birds out. Track what a batch is worth as it grows — and what every loss costs you.

  1. Set eggs — press "+ Set eggs" the day the eggs go into the machine. Enter how many and the date. The hatch date is worked out for you.
  2. Candle — around day 14 hold a light to each egg and count how many are fertile. Press Candle and enter that number. This is what tells you whether a poor hatch was your incubator or the eggs you were sold.
  3. Record hatch — on hatch day, enter how many chicks came out. The batch becomes a grow-out flock and starts eating, so feed and water begin counting against it.
  4. Move to livestock, or Record sale — when the birds are grown, either move them into your herd as tagged animals, or record the sale. Either way the batch closes.

The two money figures mean different things. "Worth today" is what the birds are worth at the age they are now. "At sell age" is what they should fetch fully grown. Eggs still in the machine only have the second one, because they are not worth anything yet.

Nothing in the incubator

Set your first batch and the app tracks the hatch date, the headcount and what they're worth as they grow.
