1. Record anything you spend that is not an animal or a machine — feed, fuel, power, water, rent, the vet.
2. Set "Related to" so the cost lands where it belongs: a whole species, one batch, or general. General is the honest answer for a power bill that runs the house and the brooder both.
3. Mark it repeating if it comes every month. That is what turns a bill into a forecast instead of a receipt.
4. For feed, pick the feed line and the quantity — the sack goes into the bin at the same time. You can also tick off the task that asked for it.

Feed you buy is counted as the animals eat it, not on the day you pay. So a sack bought today shows up gradually, which is why it may not appear where you expect straight away.
