  1. Add each animal you can identify individually — a tag, a name, whatever you actually call it. Birds in a grow-out batch do not belong here; they live on the Incubator page until you move them across.
  2. Record births, deaths, sales, weights and treatments as they happen. Every figure elsewhere in the app is built from these, so an unrecorded death quietly inflates your feed bill and your flock value.
  3. Set the breed where you know it. Breed drives how much the animal is assumed to eat and what it should weigh, so it changes the money as well as the label.
  4. Use the filters to find what needs attention — expecting, overdue, withdrawal periods running. The Today page surfaces the urgent ones on its own.

A withdrawal period means milk or eggs from that animal cannot be sold yet. The app tracks it from the treatment you recorded and will not let you forget it, which is the one thing here with legal weight.
